Project |01 Shipping Container Cottage

Design and building information modeling of a cottage made with used shipping containers. The containers are insulated and finished with wood cladding. They are stacked on top of each other to create a second floor. Because of the larges openings part of the shipping containers have to be reinforced in order to be structuraly sound.
This project is at the conceptual desing phase. So far it seems to be a cost effective way to build a cottage or a small home especially in locations where the climate does not require thick insulation.

Project |01 Structural plans of a horseback riding center

Full set of structural plans of a horseback riding center. The structure of the building is made out of cross-beams of larges dimensions. ADA and Woodwork structural softwares were used to dimension some elements of the structure.
Loads were calculated using the 2010 version of the National Building Code. The structural elements were dimensioned using the CSA 086-09 Standard and the foundation were dimensioned using the ACNOR A23.3-04 standard.
